Publisher makes major move to the Mac

Axel Springer AG, (one of Europe’s largest newspaper publishers), has announced that they will be switching their 10,000 employees and 150 newspapers in 30 countries over to the Mac, effectively making them Apple’s second largest corporate customer after Google.

Axel Springer AG’s CEO, Mathias Döpfner, cites the following four reasons for the move:

  • Most of the company’s layout work was already being done on Macs
  • Macs are more user friendly than other computers
  • Apple creates the most elegant computers
  • Macs are cheaper to buy and easier to maintain than they were in the past.
