Yesterday, I drove up to Edmonton for the grand opening of the Apple Store in West Edmonton Mall. I left at around 6 in the morning, and by the time I arrived at the store at 9am, there were already about 100 people in line - there were free Apple-branded American Apparel t-shirts for the first 1000 customers…

From the Edmonton Journal (Sunday, July 6, 2008):

More than 600 people packed the 6,000-square-foot West Edmonton Mall location within the first hour, cheering along with Apple Store staff, while still more waited in line.
